CONFERENCE CALLING APPLICATIONS

Small businesses will often need to bring their workforce together for a meeting or a conference call. However, the actual cost of such systems is prohibitive at best for most companies. Free conference calling applications would come to the rescue then. See what’s available to help you make calls and not spend too much for it – in fact, some of them are even free:
  1. Skype: One of my all time favorites and totally free as long as skype is installed on the recipients’ PC too. The only that would cost you money is when you make calls from your PC to a phone. The latest version of Skype also has screen sharing abilities. Just because it is free, it doesn’t mean that skype leaves you with more to desire; It is, In fact, even better than some of the paid applications.
  2. Freeconferencecall.com: This is a no-frills conferencing applications and it has absolutely no bells and whistles. It has a bare-bone feature set. You could have only a maximum of 96 participants and your calls can be stretched only upto 6 hours. Although this should be enough for most companies, the fact that your recorded conference erases itself the moment you start a new conference call. For this reason, you will have to download these calls first before starting a new one.
  3. Yugma: Think of Yugma as a free web-conferencing application with lots of other features like screen-sharing, collaboration tools like instant messaging and others. Yugma can also be integrated with Skype for more flexibility. The number of participants for Yugma is limited to 20 for the free version. You go for the paid version, however, you can add up to 500 participants.
