SKYPE

Skype has always been my favorite application and is probably one of the most frequently used ones on my computer – the explanation for its sheer usefulness goes beyond the scope of this post. As if it wasn’t good enough, the new version of Skype now enables you to share your screen or “screen cast” while you communicate. That not only takes communication to a different level, but also allows you to leverage this technology for better business. Off the top of my mind, here’s what I have been thinking.
  1. On-demand customer support with screen casting: Could you imagine being on the call for tech support through this new Skype version? Why be faceless and do everything using “ticket system” or phones and emails? You could be live and available for your customers and help them with their problems right there and share your screen to collaborate, if need be. Think about it – this could give you tremendous competitive advantage.
  2. E-learning and Tutoring: This one was an obvious one for me since that’s the line I keep thinking most of time for some reason. Using Skype’s New version, it is possible to conduct classes or tutorials online (with the help of some other applications). The learning is guaranteed to be effective due to the audiovisual combo with text – one dimension more than normal ways of learning.
  3. Exclusive Mentor Program: You could start training people one-on-one or with small focused groups in an exclusive training program or “mentor program”. This not only establishes you as an expert, but also helps as a catalyst for word-of-mouth, increases brand value and you customers would just love you.

Can you think of creative ways to use the new Skype version? Is there anything else we could do with it? Let me know:
